Liverpool Striker Responds To Rumours About His Anfield Exit

Liverpool striker Divock Origi isn’t getting the game time he wants at Anfield and that is attracting clubs. According to reports of Calciomercato, Juventus have made the 21-year-old Belgian their top priority for the upcoming January window.

The Italian Champions are reportedly looking to replace Mario Mandzukic and the Belgian seems to be the right candidate for them. Origi, for his part, is yet to find the back of the net this season in the Premier League. But the former Lille striker has scored in both his EFL Cup games this year.

The Reds striker opened up about the rumours of his move and also his time at the club. He was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“I’ve not heard it. It’s a rumour, as there are many.

“No, I concentrate fully on Liverpool and the Belgium national team.”

Origi also stated that he has to be patient with his time at the club. Jurgen Klopp does not like to change a winning side and with the club doing well in recent games, the youngster must wait for his opportunities to impress.

“We lost against Burnley and drew against Tottenham. A manager never changes his winning team.

“It does not matter to me. Klopp believes in me and says I have to be patient.

“He asked me to stay calm, which is not easy for a footballer. I want to play and be the decisive player than I was last season.

“I scored 10 goals in no time. Everything can turn quickly in football.”

Origi getting more playing time at Juve?

These are the kind of links that don’t really make a lot of sense. Origi would not get a lot of first-team action at Juve either. The Serie A club have Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala, who will surely start ahead of Origi.

The Belgian should be looking to stay at the Merseyside club if he wants more football. The Reds play with Roberto Firmino up front and when they need to make a change, it is Origi who gets the nod ahead of others.

Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings have been relegated to the bench or the U23s and that opens more doors for the youngster. Origi has already played in six games this season with a couple of goals. He has looked impressive in the opportunities he has got and certainly seems to be getting better.

Origi did score 10 goals for the Reds last season but if he is to break into the first team at Liverpool, he has to put in a lot of hard work. At the moment, Jurgen Klopp’s side are preparing to face Manchester United and who knows, the Belgian could spring a surprise if he is brought on to play for the Reds.
