Philippe Coutinho’s blistering start to the season for club and country is attracting a lot of clubs. The former Inter Milan man already has three goals and two assists to his name in the Premier League and recently scored for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier.

His great form for the club also has the management at Anfield thinking about giving the 24-year-old a new contract. Liverpool had given Coutinho a new contract just 18 months ago but they would want to secure the future of one of their prized assets.

According to reports, Coutinho only earns £70,000 a week, which is ludicrous, to say the least. Coutinho is one of the brightest players in the team and him not earning close to six figures a week seems to have jolted Liverpool into action.

The Reds would want to close the deal as quickly as possible, though. The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from the club for a number of years.  While Barcelona have always been in the running to sign Coutinho, there is another team looking to sign up the magician.

France calling for Coutinho

Paris Saint-Germain have always been on the lookout for creative players and with a great South American contingent present, Coutinho is a serious target for the Ligue 1 club. PSG have not been able to storm Ligue 1 like in the past.

While Coutinho would not be a like for like replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Brazilian surely can add more ingenuity to the attack of the team. Even if Liverpool do sign him up for a longer contract, it only means that any club wanting to sign him have to pay more.

The likes of PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid are probably the few clubs that can fork out huge transfer fees. While Barcelona has always been a destination that makes sense for Coutinho, owing to his closeness to Neymar, PSG is not a bad option either.

The Paris club would want to win the one title that is missing from their cabinet and that is the Champions League trophy. And Coutinho could be that player for the Ligue 1 giants. Liverpool though will hope that the attacker stars at the Merseyside club for a number of years and isn’t thinking of moving anytime soon.

A deadly attacking trio at Liverpool

Coutinho has been a great threat for the Reds in their revamped 4-3-3 system and with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino providing great company, it isn’t a surprise that Liverpool are thriving.

The Reds are fourth in the Premier League but they do have the joint-best attack, something that Coutinho has been able to help the side with. Liverpool must keep the Brazilian for as long as they can if they want to make it back to the Champions League or even win titles.
