Liverpool have signed another wonder kid on a trial and this player is from South America. Agustin Davila has joined the Merseyside club on a two-week loan and is to be checked up by the coaches at Kirkby.
The 17-year-old plays for Atletico Penarol and could be looking to sign up permanently for the Reds, should he impress the academy coaches, according to the Daily Mail. The Uruguayan will have a close eye kept on him by academy director Alex Ingelthorpe and many would hope that he does turn out to be another Luis Suarez.
That is for the future, for the now, the youngster does have a great scoring record with 100 goals being netted during his youth career at the club. Davila has also played for the U15 and U17 level for his country, thus proving he is one of the most talented youngsters to come out from Uruguay.
There is not much known about the youngster but he could be another player to try out his luck in the Liverpool youth squad. The Reds have given many youngsters a chance over the years and if Davila works hard enough, he could turn out in the colours of the Merseyside club in the Premier League.
A goal scorer needed for Liverpool
While this might seem far-fetched, Liverpool are in dire need of a goal scorer in their side. In the last game against Manchester United, the lack of a proper finisher and in-form striker was missing. Jurgen Klopp would want to sign up players who are mobile and hopefully Davila is just that kind of star in the making.
Based on a few clips seen of him over the internet, the striker does seem to possess quick feet. He also is cool in front of goal and isn’t fazed when taking a shot. The predominantly left-footed striker doesn’t play inside the box but drifts just outside it, looking to connect with other players in the side.
He does have a great left foot but his movement and running does seem akin to that of Philippe Coutinho, at least his tricks look pretty similar. The 17-year-old might be dominating the Uruguayan youth system but playing in the Premier League or even in the youth setups is a different kettle of fish.
This is probably why Liverpool have taken up the two-week trial. They would look at how he plays against the team at the moment before deciding to pick him up. But if he is as good as what we have seen on the internet, Liverpool have a great star in the making. Sign him up now!
