Football returned to Anfield again as Liverpool hosted the Baggies of Tony Pulis in an evening where the reds sealed the victory in fantastic fashion with some sublime football time to time. Liverpool’s trio Firmino, Coutinho and Sadio Mane’s linkups were too good at times as the club capitalized on draws of Arsenal and Tottenham earlier in the day and managed to seal the gap.

From the beginning itself, it was one-sided as expected and the goal came soon enough with magnificent football. Coutinho’s dummy found Can racing through the middle and Can’s ball to the left then allowed Firmino to just glance the ball across the box for Mane to finish. The second goal followed quickly as well and this time it was West Brom’s own back to back errors that gave away the goal. Fletcher’s miscue gave the ball to Mane who drifted it left to Coutinho and the Brazilian cut inside to finish the ball into the near corner. The only negative would be the inability to keep a clean sheet as set-pieces once again cost them a goal. Here is how the reds have been rated against the baggies from Midlands.

GK : Loris Karius – 6.5/10

Karius has come under some pressure in the past few weeks but he set out to keep the manager’s faith and repay it and he looked much more confident between the posts. His ball distributions were very impressive and he looks to be adapting to the no.1 role.

RB : Nathaniel Clyne – 7/10

Clyne was a very useful in terms of forward runs and link-ups and almost in the entire game, he was there up with West Brom’s left back Nyom.

CB : Joel Matip – 7.5/10

Matip’s defensive displays are growing to be impressive off late and once again he was supreme having formed a formidable partnership with Lovren.

CB : Dejan Lovren – 7/10

Made less impact that Matip but yet again he was solid in his performance.

LB : James Milner – 7/10

Milner was more influential attacking wise. He went on to commit a lot of fouls at the end but he’s turning out to be a worthy left back for Klopp

CM : Emre Can – 7.5/10

Can retained his place in the eleven as Wijnaldum was working his way back after suffering an injury. Can’s work rate was crucial even though he tried on late. His quick passes were incisive and beautiful to watch and he played a crucial part in Liverpool’s first goal

CM : Jordan Henderson – 7/10

Took time to settle with Can but nothing special really from the English captain. He kept the ball ticking and ensured ball distribution

RM : Adam Lallana -8/10

Lallana made Liverpool’s 100th appearance and he kept adding to the spice of the attack by contributing well. Also, his one touch moves are a delight to watch at times.

CAM : Sadio Mane – 8.5/10

A very brightening performance for the Senegal international as a goal and an assist capped off a perfect night for him

LM : Philippe Coutinho – 9/10

It was a magical night for Coutinho at Anfield as his flair with flamboyance delivered the result to the Reds. He kept attacking and playing linkups and Liverpool fans would only hope that this goes on

FW : Roberto Firmino – 8.5/10

Firmino was just as influential right from the beginning. He kept making defenders and goalkeepers play alike.
