Jurgen Klopp could be raiding Germany once again. With Klopp already been linked with a move for Jonathan Tah, a central defender, the Reds manager now seems to have made Julian Brandt his next big target, according to the report from the German publication – Express.

The German winger plays mostly on the left and the 20-year-old is already in his fourth season with Bayer Leverkusen. The former Borussia Dortmund manager seems to be picking players that are having issues with their contract and Brandt is no different.

According to reports Brandt’s contract ends in 2019 and while talks with the club haven’t been stalled, but his father has suggested the German could sign a contract with Bayer.

“Of course, there is interest, but there are no negotiations or preliminary talks with other clubs,” he said.

“Julian decides what he is doing. This is often a decision of the belly, in which timing also plays an important role.

“We are always in touch with Bayer. I think that we’ll get together in the summer of 2017 at the latest to decide how to go on. I can understand that Leverkusen wants clarity.”

Another bargain signing for the Reds?

Like many players in the Bundesliga, Brandt too does not have a mammoth release clause. £10.75 million is the valuation set for the highly rated winger and that would be peanuts for the Anfield club to pay.

They already brought in Joel Matip on a free and even Loris Karius on the cheap from Germany. And the signings of Tah and Brandt would certainly be great for the Premier League leaders. Klopp had earlier stated that he was looking to bring in another attacker in the winter window and if he does bid around £20 million, it could be tempting for the Bundesliga side.

Leverkusen aren’t doing all that well and could miss out on the Champions League next season. Liverpool, on the other hand, seem to be on course for achieving more than just a top four finish and could even end up with some silverware.

The lure of Champions League football next season, the side playing some great attacking football and Jurgen Klopp at the helm of the club would be too much for many players to resist. Brandt does have a great future ahead of him and it is a surprise that he was not linked with a move to a bigger club before.

While German players don’t necessarily move away from the Bundesliga, Klopp is the ace in the hold for the Reds and Brandt could be the player making the move to England in winter.
