Liverpool Target Set To Stay Put Desipte Heavy Offers, Claims Agent

The Sardar Azmoun rumours just don’t seem to die and it certainly is gaining traction thanks to the words of his agent. The Iranian has been one of the brightest players to have come out from the Asian side in a long time and his goal scoring form for the national side is great as well.

The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals in 20 games for the national side but his record in league football isn’t the greatest. The Rostov striker though has found the back of the net thrice in the Champions League this season and has been linked with a move away from the Russian side.

There have been reports that the Merseyside club are in line to make an offer in the winter window as they look for quality replacements for Sadio Mane, who is set to leave for the African Cup of Nations in January 2017.

Azmoun’s agent seems to be playing the field and was quoted (cited by ESPN) as saying:

“I read about the interest in Sardar from Liverpool, but I can say that at present there have been no formal proposals from either foreign or Russian clubs,” Hagitali was reported as saying.

“Now his main goal is to become the best striker in the Russian Premier League.

“Kurban Berdyev is like a father-figure, and he would like to work with the coach. If some proposals come, we will look at them.”

Many offers already for the young striker

There has been a lot of interest for the striker with even Everton are interested in the youngster. The 21-year-old had already stated that he wants to move to the Premier League but the Iranian isn’t the most physical player out here and that could be the major problem for Azmoun.

Azmoun does have great close control and great vision, even for someone so young, yet there still are regions of his game that need to be bettered but he should work on that as he continues his footballing journey. ESPN, though, quoted a source close to Azmoun would want to move to the Premier League leaders.

“My main goal is to play in Premier League, and I’ve taken a lot of good advice to stay in Russia to gain more experience.”

The big issue for the Reds would be judging his quality. Azmoun isn’t playing in the toughest league in the world and bringing him to a team that is getting along so well could lead to problems. Azmoun isn’t the perfect solution for the team either and the Reds do have a lot of quality in the side, so a move for the Iranian doesn’t really make sense.

But if Klopp believes that Azmoun can keep the forward momentum going for the Reds then we should just let it be. The German manager has been brilliant with the transfers and it will be interesting to see just how he fits the rising Iranian star at Anfield.
