£25 Million Liverpool Star Could Be Off To London Club Soon

Liverpool haven’t had the best of 48 hours in the Premier League. Not only did they drop points at Southampton, a game where they had better chances, they also saw Chelsea overtake them to go to the top of the Premier League.

There were also the reports of Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson visiting a strip club during the international break and now it is being reported that West Ham United are leading the race to sign Daniel Sturridge.

The London club have been looking to sign a new striker and have struggled for wins this season. And after their collapse at White Hart Lane, losing 3-2, they surely will be looking to bring in the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker.

A lack of chances at Liverpool for Sturridge

The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order at the Premier League side and Jurgen Klopp only seems to be using him as a substitute. Sturridge did come on in the game against Southampton but the Reds did struggle to dominate, though they had some really good chances to win the game.

Sturridge, though, needs to play more frequently, and West Ham are willing to give the Englishman a chance of playing regularly. The Sunday Express claim that a bid of £25million would be enough to ensure Liverpool part ways with the striker.

The Reds have preferred Roberto Firmino in attack this season with Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho beside him and for all the money that West Ham might bid; Klopp should keep hold of Sturridge at least until the end of the season.

A few more months for Sturridge at Liverpool

The striker has not found the back of the net in the Premier League this season but that is not for a lack of trying. The former Manchester City striker does need to score a few goals before the season ends if he is to retain his place in the side.

For the moment, Klopp cannot sell the striker as he does not have enough cover. The destination isn’t the greatest for Sturridge either as he would be looking to move to a bigger club, no disrespect meant to West Ham but they will not be fighting for any titles anytime soon.

Klopp has been able to make the best of the Englishman either and it does seem to be tough on him but with Liverpool playing this well and no European football either this season, chances for Sturridge will be limited. Hopefully, he can pull his act together and ensure he stays at the Merseyside club even post the next summer transfer window.
