Liverpool’s star player from the season, Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a move away from the side for quite a while. The mercurial Brazilian has been in the form of his life as he has already scored five goals and provided five assists in the Premier League this season.

The former Inter Milan player has now added more fuel to the fire by providing his support to the holy trinity of MSN at Barcelona. While speaking to FourFourTwo, the Brazilian stated that the trio were his favourite players.

“My top three players in the world are the MSN trio,” Coutinho told FourFourTwo.

“One is fast, the other is skilful, then there’s the top scorer, so they really complete each other.”

The 24-year-old has been lauded by Barcelona greats from the past and present while even Real Madrid’s former striker Ronaldo wanted him to join Los Galacticos.

Spain calling for Coutinho?

While these comments aren’t as clear as saying that Coutinho does want to move to Spain, it does give a bit of an insight. The trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar certainly are the best players in the world and once they get their act going, it is extremely hard for any side to keep them down.

The trio has smashed goal scoring records from a number of seasons and Coutinho wouldn’t mind playing alongside such talented players.

The Brazilian did play with Suarez at Liverpool and the Uruguayan would certainly have spoken about the quality of Coutinho to the rest of the Barcelona team. There is another member of the trinity that could play a major hand in the transfer of Coutinho and that is Neymar.

The Barcelona attacker has played with Coutinho since the Brazilian youth teams and the duo have been thick as thieves for a number of years. Now the pair play for the Brazil senior side and can be seen celebrating together as many times as they can.

What we must understand also is that Coutinho, like most South American players, feel closer to home in Spain when compared to England. Almost every South American player does end up in Spain sooner rather than later but Liverpool fans will be hoping that such a story does not develop with their best player of the season.

Coutinho might be injured at the moment and for now, he is a Liverpool player but once Barcelona make up their mind about signing someone, there is no one who can stop them. We have seen it happen with Suarez, Mascherano and even Fabregas going to the club and Coutinho could well be the next big star who joins them soon.
