Liverpool have been linked with a move for one of the rising talents in Italy, Franck Kessie of Atalanta, and there have been a number of reports suggesting that the Reds will sign the player sooner rather than later.

The Italian press is known for spreading rumours and Calcio Mercato It claims that the Reds are the favourites to sign the 19-year-old midfielder. The same report also states that Tottenham are in line to sign the highly talented midfielder.

Kessie has scored five goals in 14 league games for the Serie A side and could be a valuable member for the Reds in the future. It does seem a little difficult to digest Jurgen Klopp moving for a player that not many know. but it was reported earlier that the Reds have tracked the midfielder for a number of games.

The report

also claims that Klopp is willing to bid anything between €20m and €25m to bring the Ivorian youngster to Anfield but another report claims that Chelsea is in the driving seat to sign the rising star of Italian football.

The Corriere dello Sport, as per Metro, claims that Kessie’s agent has met Chelsea this week and Georges Atangana has already discussed a move to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Two rumours from the same country isn’t something new but the second story might have more weight to it than the first one.

Chelsea need to bring in talent

While Antonio Conte has done a great job at Chelsea, there are a number of players who are set to leave in the January window. Oscar is set to move to the Chinese Super League while there are rumours of Cesc Fabregas also being on the transfer list for the Blues.

That would certainly leave the Blues with a lack of quality in the midfield and it is expected that Kessie can chip in with a few performances before the end of the season.

Liverpool, on the other hand, already have the likes of Kevin Stewart and Marko Grujic fighting to get a few minutes in the first team and the likes of Cameron Brannagan is another star in the making for Klopp’s team.

Jurgen Klopp has shown his faith in the youth policy of the side and has given a number of chances for young players to perform such as Ben Woodburn, Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria. Hopefully, the German will hand a few more chances to the youngsters before the end of the season as the Reds look to finish in the top four at least.
