Poor Outing From Origi – The Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players From Their 0-0 Draw Against Plymouth

Liverpool will have to face Plymouth Argyle yet again as the lower league side held on for a famous draw at Anfield. The Reds didn’t play with their attacking swagger and verve but did give a chance for a number of youngsters to get game time.

The home side fielded their youngest ever side to play against the League Two side and it showed as there really wasn’t a lot of penetration from the Reds. Lucas was played in defence and was the captain but the lack of an Adam Lallana or Philippe Coutinho did tell as the Merseyside club barely tested their opposition goalkeeper.

Divock Origi did have a goal disallowed in the first half but it was a poor display and the Reds will have to play the Pilgrims in the replay at Home Park.

With the Reds failing to find the back of the net, here are the player ratings for the side.

Loris Karius – 6/10

The German keeper was given a chance by Klopp and even though he was not tested, it was a steady performance by the youngster and should give him some confidence in the games ahead.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10

The right-back started brightly as he tore into the opposition defence but the second half saw him having to come up with a few timely tackles as well.

Joe Gomez – 7/10

This wasn’t the greatest comeback for a player who has been out due to injury for a long time but Gomez did do the basics right and didn’t really put a foot wrong.

Lucas Leiva – 6/10

Lucas captained the side in the now familiar central defender’s role and had a couple of shots on goal but didn’t really put the goalkeeper under pressure.

Alberto Moreno – 7/10

The former Sevilla man was alright and didn’t really put a foot wrong in the game and again should gain some confidence from this outing.

Emre Can – 6/10

Can didn’t really do anything to help out in the attack and had an average game, to say the least.

Kevin Stewart – 7/10

Another youngster that did alright in the game, his passing and defending was alright but Liverpool needed more in the attack.

Ovie Ejaria – 6/10

The youngster got a chance to impress but failed to really make the most of it, especially in the second half.

Sheyi Ojo – 7/10

Sheyi did put in a couple of delicious balls in the first half but that was about it from a player who has missed a large chunk of the season so far.

Divock Origi – 5/10

This was a rather poor outing from Origi and many would have expected him to star against the League Two side. Origi did have a goal ruled out, and rightly so, but really should have done a lot more.

Ben Woodburn – 6/10

Woodburn showed a couple of bright flashes in the first half with his close control but faded out as the game went back.

Substitutes

Daniel Sturridge – 8/10

Sturridge was the brightest player when he replaced Emre Can and did have a proper go at goal. He could have scored a goal or two had he started the game.

Adam Lallana – 6/10

Lallana came on in the 75^th minute but failed to actually get to grips with the pace of the game.

Roberto Firmino – 6/10

The Brazilian also didn’t really do anything all that noteworthy and didn’t really help the side out.
