Liverpool have had a pretty decent season so far and even after losing their first-leg semi-final in the EFL Cup, the Reds have plenty to shout about. As the Merseyside club prepare to face Manchester United on Sunday, one of their stars from this season, Adam Lallana is being linked with a move to Barcelona and Juventus.

The 28-year-old has been in incredible form this season having racked up seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League and according to ESPN, he could be on his way out of the Premier League.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for another Liverpool player, Philippe Coutinho in the past but the Lallana rumour is one that is gaining steam. The Englishman didn’t have the greatest of starts to his Liverpool career when he signed from Southampton but ever since Jurgen Klopp has taken charge, things have turned out for the best.

The midfielder was also the target for Mauricio Pochettino in the summer as the former Southampton manager wanted to link up with his former player but Lallana stuck around and the fruits are starting to show.

Liverpool seem a different side with the Englishman in their team and the 28-year-old is one of the hardest working players in the side. Lallana often tops the ‘most distance covered’ stat for the Reds and his link up play has been brilliant with the forwards of Liverpool.

Regarding the transfer rumour, it does seem a little odd that Barcelona would want to sign Lallana or even Juventus would be thinking of signing Lallana when there are more talented players out there who would be younger than the Englishman.

The fact that Lallana would have to move to another country would be on his mind as well as many players have failed to make it big outside their own country. Barcelona could be thinking that this Lallana could be their Steve McManaman or even David Beckham but there is just too much competition at Barcelona.

Lallana would find it hard to break into the starting XI, even for all the quality he has. Juventus could be a great option for the Englishman should he decide to move to Serie A but this should only come at the end of his career.

The Reds are enjoying the best of Lallana at the moment and would not want to change anything soon. The former Saint could be the saviour for the Merseyside club as they look to pick up a result at Manchester United. Lallana would have to play well at Old Trafford and if he does, Liverpool have a great chance of nicking the game.
