Liverpool stopped the rot at Anfield as their poor run of losses at home came to an end with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The draw meant that Liverpool avoided a fourth consecutive loss at home, a record that stretched back 96 years but it could have been more for the home side.
Jurgen Klopp had urged his players to make the game count with a win but the game didn’t start all too well as Chelsea scored off a free kick but Simon Mignolet didn’t actually hear the whistle as David Luiz scored.
The Reds were struggling to break the Chelsea defence down but a header in the second half from Georginio Wijnaldum gave them the equaliser. The Blues could have won the game in the 77th minute when Diego Costa won a penalty but Mignolet did well to save the kick.
The month of January comes to an end for the Reds and they only won one game, which was in the FA Cup, but they did give Sadio Mane a few minutes on the pitch and he could make a huge difference from the next game onwards.
10 points is the difference between Liverpool and Chelsea and that more or less ends the chances of the title for the Reds and we share the best Twitter reactions from the game.

So Liverpool, in crisis, sit a point off 2nd. Could have won that, a cheap free-kick decision and then stupid goalkeeping cost us.
