Liverpool didn’t really do much business in the winter window and only Mamadou Sakho left the side, only on a loan deal. Jurgen Klopp certainly was upset at the lack of transfer activity in the winter window but he did admit that changes need to be made in the side.

The Reds have dramatically fallen off the pace in the race for the Premier League title and they are now in the fight for a top-four place. The summer will be an interesting time for Klopp and the team as they look to add more quality to the team and there might be a few other stories as well.

Klopp does like doing his business early in the summer window and here are five transfer plans of the Reds that will be doing the rounds at the start of next season, based on reports from the Echo

.

Julian Brandt

Liverpool don’t have many top quality attacking players and have been linked with a number of Bundesliga stars over the past two transfer windows. The Bayer Leverkusen star is one of the top priorities for Klopp and was not for sale in the winter window.

The 20-year-old can play across the front line and even though the German is not known for his defensive contributions, he could be the winger that Klopp has been looking to feature alongside Sadio Mane for the Reds.

Mahmoud Dahoud

The German international at Borussia Monchengladbach was one of the top targets in the winter window but the Reds could not close a deal for the midfielder. Liverpool have struggled for quality cover in the centre of the park and Dahoud only has 18 months left on his contract.

The Reds could sign him on the cheap and that would mean good business and it will not be a surprise if the Syria-born midfielder is constantly linked once again when the next window opens.

Christian Pulisic

Another youngster that Klopp wanted to sign in the winter window, but failed to do so, Christian Pulisic has had another great season with the inconsistent Borussia Dortmund this season and would be a great addition to the Liverpool team.

The Reds did try to sign him on deadline day in the last summer window but Dortmund turned the offer down. The American might have signed a new contract with the Bundesliga side in between but that will not stop Klopp from getting the player that he wants.

Daniel Sturridge

While the above-mentioned players could be arriving at the Reds, the English striker could be looking to leave the Merseyside club as he has failed to fit into Klopp’s playing style. A number of former players have shared their opinion about Sturridge leaving the club and Jamie Redknapp also added:

“At the end of the season Liverpool and Daniel Sturridge have to weigh up what’s for the best.

“You don’t get enough game time out of him and when he does play, he doesn’t show enough quality at this present moment.

“He has done previously, but something isn’t quite right with him.”

The Englishman has been linked with many Premier League sides and he surely will leave the Merseyside club in the summer window.

Mamadou Sakho

This is another player that is sure to leave Liverpool at the start of next season. The Frenchman is on loan at Crystal Palace until the end of this season but Sakho is not wanted at Liverpool. The 26-year-old defender was one of the best centre-backs prior to his ban from the side and will be looking to end his Liverpool nightmare soon.

Sakho has been wanted by a number of clubs and the Reds will be looking to seal a permanent move away for the Frenchman in the summer window. PSG, Lille and a few Premier League clubs have been linked with Sakho and this is one transfer that will happen for sure.
