Even though the winter transfer window has come to a halt, there are a few players that are still being linked with moves away from their respective teams. One such player is Joe Hart who had been on the rumour list for Liverpool during the start of the season but the Englishman seems to have found another club that wants him and that is Arsenal.

The Daily Mail claims that the 29-year-old Manchester City keeper is a target for Arsene Wenger as the Frenchman seems to have lost patience with Petr Cech. The former Chelsea goalkeeper is 34-years of age and Wenger believes the best days are behind the goalkeeper.

Should Cech decide to stay at Arsenal next season, he would become their second choice goalie and Joe Hart would be promoted as number one. The English goalkeeper has been sent out on loan to Torino this season and replaced by Claudio Bravo by Pep Guardiola and it seems there is no place for Hart at the Etihad next season too.

The report also claims that Manchester City would be willing to listen to offers which are close to £15m which could lead to a big battle between Liverpool and Arsenal.

Quality goalkeeper needed at Merseyside

While Cech still has put in great performances for Arsenal and is still dependable, the same cannot be said about the pair of goalkeepers at Liverpool. Simon Mignolet was at fault again this time when the lost against Hull City and Loris Karius has looked shaky ever since Klopp signed him from Mainz.

The lack of a world-class goalkeeper has been a problem for the Reds for a while and a number of former players have urged Klopp to go out and bring Hart to the club as soon as possible.

Liverpool were the only clubs in the running to sign Hart but with Arsenal coming in, it will make things interesting. Both teams aren’t playing at their best and with Champions League football being important for both sides, qualification for Europe could mean the difference between Hart joining either side.

Arsenal are better placed to play in the Champions League but the Reds know that they are not far off from a top four place and should they get a good run going, they could even end up second in the Premier League table.

What is a given is that there will be a tug of war for Hart when his time at Torino ends next season and Liverpool need him a lot more than Arsenal do.
