Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph has shared what Liverpool plan to do regarding their transfers for next season. The Liverpool correspondent seems to gotten news shared by the club last night and it seems the Reds are trying to allay fears that the fans might have at the moment.
Many were unhappy about the lack of transfer activity by the Reds and this could be seen as a move to soothe some of the anger.
Writing for the Telegraph, Bascombe stated:
“His long-term plan was always to add another four or five new faces in the summer – but only those he has tracked for some time – although it was expected Liverpool will be in European competition next season and would naturally need more personnel.
“That will mean another busy period with recruitment is beckoning at the end of the season, but not with the same upheaval as in recent times. In the past, when Liverpool have signed several players it has led to another prolonged rebuilding process as the new first team gels.
“Klopp is determined that will not be the case this time, as although he recognises the need for more quality players to give him more selection options, he feel he has a base intact for the next few years. Lallana’s new deal is another demonstration of that.”
What it basically states is that the German will move for those players that he has tracked for a while and this could mean the likes of Christian Pulisic, Mahmoud Dahoud and Julian Brandt all making the jump from Bundesliga to the English League.
The trio is young and hungry for success, though it has to be seen how Liverpool deal should they not have Champions League football next season as they lie in fifth place in the league.
There have also been concerns about the fact that the Reds need a new goalkeeper, central defender and striker as the current crop of players don’t seem to be good enough for the team. There is no doubt that a few players will leave the side and that culling could start with Daniel Sturridge and Simon Mignolet.
The duo has not been at their best under Klopp and their funds could be used to bring in players such as Joe Hart and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Reds could also be looking to bring in steel into their defence with the signing of Virgil van Dijk.
One thing is guaranteed, even if the Reds have a poor end of the season, the transfer activity next season will be interesting and exciting, to say the least.
