West Ham Striker Names Former Liverpool Teammates In His Dream 5-a-Side Team

Andy Carroll has named his dream Premier League 5-a-side team and any guesses? He has included his former Liverpool teammates Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez!

The gigantic Englishman was a part of Liverpool’s squad that won the 2012 league cup and has played along with Gerrard and Suarez during his time at Anfield. Suarez and Carroll joined Liverpool in the same window and both of them left the club later on, with Carroll joining West Ham United in the summer of 2013 and Suarez joining Barcelona in 2014.

The other players included along with the former Liverpool stars were Kevin Nolan, Shay Given, and Winston Reid.

Talking to Premier League’s official website, Carroll said:

“His name just says it all! He was another leader. He did it all his career at Liverpool, which was a quality career and I think he’s a great man. He was fantastic for England and Liverpool and just a great career.”

Well, it is not at all surprising to see Gerrard included in a dream-team. He would hardly be left out by any player who has played with him.

Talking about former Liverpool talisman Suarez, he said, “His work-rate, his movement, and his finishing was fantastic, He was just a great player and obviously that’s why he got his move to Barcelona [in 2014].

Luis Suarez was a beast during his time in England and scored an astonishing 82 goals in 133 games for Liverpool, before moving to Barcelona in 2014.

Carroll also spoke highly about Kevin Nolan, Shay Given, and Winston Reid. He described Kevin Nolan as a leader while he says Shay Given lights up the dressing room with his presence.

The tall English striker played only one full season in Liverpool colours and was loaned out to West Ham before the start of his second season at Anfield. He moved to West Ham permanently in 2013

It seems to be a fairly strong 5-a-side team with a perfect mix of experience and flair. Fair enough from the former Newcastle and Liverpool striker to not include himself in the team (maybe he wanted to be honest with himself, so credits to him for that).
