Liverpool have suffered a fresh injury blow, this time with Jordan Henderson being a doubt for the clash against Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday. In the post-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp admitted that he is unsure if Jordan Henderson would be fit in time to face the Gunners.

Jordan Henderson suffered a foot injury during the build-up to the game against Leicester City. He did not feature in the team’s 3-1 defeat at King Power Stadium.

Klopp said in his post-match press conference,

“It looks like he will not be ready for Arsenal. That’s how it looks but I’m not sure, we will see.”

Liverpool suffered a cruel loss against Leicester, with Jamie Vardy scoring a brace and Danny Drinkwater scoring a ‘golazo’ from distance. The result came as a shock, given Liverpool’s preparation for two weeks since their previous game on February 11 against Tottenham, which ended with the Reds winning 2-0.

They have since travelled to Spain for ‘warm weather’ training and it appeared as though the squad was looking rejoiced and fresh ahead of the trip to King Power Stadium but somehow, Liverpool managed to fumble the game. This now puts further pressure on the team to win against Arsenal, as their hopes of finishing in the top-4 look increasingly doubtful.

Klopp will be hoping that Jordan Henderson recovers in time for the crunch clash but it looks difficult. The Reds captain has the highest number of passes in the league and tops the chart with 2057 passes. Not even world-record signing Paul Pogba has managed to achieve such distribution and thus highlighting Henderson’s importance to Liverpool’s performance on the pitch.

The next update from Klopp about the Captain’s injury will be crucial.
