According to Goal, the £140,000-a-week Germany International is hoping to be passed fit for the crucial Premier League encounter at Anfield, although he has been advised to rest up and didn’t take part in the team’s training session on Wednesday.

Ozil has scored 9 goals and has assisted 8 in 29 appearances this season and has covered more ground (10.49km per 90 minutes on average) than the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez in 2017, despite playing fewer minutes than the duo.

Though Mesut Ozil is not in great form, he is a player who can damage his opponents on his day, and the news surely comes as a boost to the Liverpool camp, who are missing their captain Jordan Henderson.
