Naby Keita would be a great fit for Liverpool.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita as Jurgen Klopp believes he is the player who can execute his complete style of football at Anfield. Naby Keita has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal previously and the news has come out once again, as the player’s agents are the same as that of Sadio Mane and they believe that Liverpool have handled their client well and apparently want Keita to make a similar switch as well.

According to Goal, Liverpool are looking at the possibility of signing Naby Keita but they know it will not be easy considering the amount of interest the player has garnered.

Keita has been hugely effective in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s intensive pressing system, which is proactive and direct. Having already spent two seasons developing at Red Bull Salzburg, Keita is one of the most explosive prospects in Europe. The Guinea international, who progressed from Ligue2 outfit FC Istres, can operate as a holding midfielder or as an attacking midfielder with equal adeptness.

He averages 3.23 tackles per game in the Bundesliga, with 3.29 interceptions and 10.13 recoveries per 90 minutes. (Stats via Goal’s report on the player) Keita has also directly contributed 10 goals for Leipzig in Germany’s top-flight this season, despite being played in front of the centre-backs for the majority of his appearances.

Only Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele has completed more dribbles than Keita in the league this season. His ability to carry the ball on his feet will come as a major factor for Liverpool as their style of play depends on the central midfielders playing with intensity on and off the ball. This requires a player who is good defensively and also offensively, and Keita fits the bill perfectly.

He is only 22-years old and signing him would be massive for Liverpool as the player has plenty of room for development and also suits the Jurgen Klopp style of play.

Will he be a good fit for Liverpool?
