Liverpool have had a week to forget as they surprisingly lost to Leicester City last weekend. The defending champions ran out 3-1 winners with a brace from Jamie Vardy and a world-class screamer from Danny Drinkwater settling the tie. The Reds endured a torrid time playing at the King Power stadium and will be looking to bounce back from the upset. They looked in good shape going into last week’s fixture but somehow, it all fell apart. However, they will be keen to put the shocker behind and welcome Arsenal for the 27th game week of the Premier League season.

Team News:

Liverpool will be without their injured skipper Jordan Henderson, who picked up an injury in the build-up to the game against Leicester City and is doubtful for the clash. However, Klopp will be happy to welcome back the likes of Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge, both of whom could play their part in this big fixture against Arsenal.

Predicted Liverpool line-up to play Arsenal:

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK):

Liverpool were defensively torn apart by Leicester but Simon Mignolet was not at fault for any of the goals. He could have closed down his near post better for Vardy’s opener, but he performed quite decently and could start against the Gunners.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB):

Clyne was one of the very few Liverpool players who played well against Leicester. He was doing his duties well defensively. However, he did not do much damage on the attack. Will continue to be deployed as the first choice right-back.

Joel Matip (CB):

Matip has been Lovren’s preferred partner and Klopp will be looking to play him once again this weekend. He will have a major say in stopping the ‘fiery’ Alexis Sanchez.

Dejan Lovren's return could prove vital for Liverpool.
Dejan Lovren’s return could prove vital for Liverpool.

Dejan Lovren (CB):

Though missed the last few games for the club, Lovren is back fit for this tie and should replace Lucas Leiva in the line-up.

James Milner (LB):

James Milner is one of the most versatile English players to have graced the game and he usually excels in any given role. He has been Liverpool’s left-back this season and has played consistently well. Milner will start against Arsenal for sure.

Emre Can (CM):

Though he was decent in the game against Leicester City, Can has had an ordinary season so far and will hope to rectify it with a good performance against the Gunners on Saturday.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM):

Wijnaldum was in great form going into the Leicester game but he did not put in a good performance and looked ineffective. However, it is good for Liverpool if he picks up his form once again.

Adam Lallana (CM):

Lallana has been one of the most consistent performers for Liverpool this season and will surely start against the Gunners.

Sadio Mane (RW):

No doubt with this one. The club’s top scorer will certainly start in a game of this size. Klopp will be banking on him to do some damage to Arsenal.

Philippe Coutinho (LW):

Coutinho’s inclusion will surely send shivers down the spine for most opponents. Such is his quality on the ball and is a sure starter on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino (CF):

He hasn’t convinced Klopp as a centre-forward but the German will probably take the gamble of playing him up front once again, as he looks to take 3 points out of the game.
