Liverpool Striker Could Be On His Way Out With AC Milan Plotting A Summer Move

Jurgen Klopp didn’t help quell the rumours regarding Daniel Sturridge’s future at Anfield after he stated that almost everyone is fighting for their place in the team, including himself. The German was even more forthcoming as he stated that the future of the English striker would be resolved in the summer.

Sturridge has lost his place to Roberto Firmino this season and has only started in five Premier League games scoring just twice in the competition.

AC Milan are struggling to make it to the Champions League next season as they languish in seventh position in the Serie A table but the fallen giants of Italian football are willing to take a risk with Daniel joining them.

Milan could be taken over by a Chinese consortium and that would only add more spending power to the Italian club. The report also claims that they are interested in Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas and would be willing to make a move for him in the summer.

Sturridge could also be staying in England as West Ham are interested in signing him after failing to do so in the winter window. Slaven Bilic wanted to sign the 27-year-old up in January but they were unable to finalise a deal for the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker.

Falling down the pecking order

It certainly has been a poor season for the Englishman and after his injury problems; he might have been looking forward to a great season with the Reds. However, injury and a lack of fitting into Jurgen Klopp’s scheme of things has hurt his chances of playing consistently.

Even if Roberto Firmino is dropped, Klopp has often played with Belgian striker Divock Origi as the youngster does run around and provide the kind of energy and effort that the manager wants in his Gegenpressing playing style.

Danny Ings is another player on the mend and the striker could also play a huge role for the Reds next season after suffering injury heartbreak again this season.
