The questions about the future of Emre Can at Liverpool could open doors for other players to join the club. The German’s contract extension has reportedly come to a halt after claims that he wants £100,000 a week and the Reds have been linked the likes of Naby Keita and Mahmoud Dahoud who play in the Bundesliga.

Marca now claims that another midfielder, Roque Mesa, is in the running for a move to one of the big clubs in the summer with Bayern Munich, Everton and Tottenham interested in his signing.

The 27-year-old is also being linked with a move to Liverpool and the Las Palmas star was a target for Sevilla in the winter window but their bid for the Spanish midfielder was rebuffed by the side.

The reason Las Palmas did not sell one of their better players is due to the fact that he has a €30 million release clause and the 12th placed side in La Liga would be looking to get the maximum amount they can for Roque.

The defensive midfielder isn’t the best when it comes to tackling but he does have the energy to be a menace in the heart of the park. While there might be a number of clubs looking to sign him in the summer, Liverpool would not be the ones that would want to sign him up.

The summer would be interesting for Liverpool and Can could be one of the players who leaves the Reds. The German hasn’t been all that great for the club this season and even though he scored the winner in the game against Burnley, the Merseyside club need an upgrade on the former Bayer Leverkusen player.
