Liverpool are expected to be heavily active in the summer transfer window especially with regard to strengthening the club’s midfield. The club have been linked with several midfielders including Monaco star Tiemoué Bakayoko. While these players will cost a significant sum of money after having already attracted the attention of the top clubs from European football, the club are also believed to be looking at substantially cheaper options. This would involve several highly talented youngsters with the chief among them being Anderson Talisca. The 23-year-old is currently playing with Turkish outfit Besiktas after coming to the club on loan from Benfica till the end of the season.

Talisca has been in excellent form this season and has contributed seven goals in just 14 games for the Turkish outfit. He has especially been in splendid form since February, and it is no surprise that possessing such a player has catapulted Besiktas to the top of the Turkish super league ahead of clubs like Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

There were several rumours linking Liverpool with a move for Talisca even before he joined Besiktas. However, a proposed move did not go through and the 23-year-old ended up joining the Turkish outfit. Besiktas general manager Ahmet Urkmezgil recently claimed that since the 23-year-old has become a huge fan favourite at the club, they would like to retain him even at a higher price. He said:

“Talisca has been in great form and the fans love him, we are working towards signing him on a permanent deal.”

A Brazilian by birth, Talisca will remain at Besiktas until the summer of 2018. Even though the Turkish outfit have the option to sign him permanently, it is believed that Liverpool think they can convince the player to join Anfield instead. Since the Turkish club have another year of his loan deal still left, they may be interested in the possibility of purchasing him and then selling him later for a bigger profit. His contract with Benfica runs out in the summer of 2019.
