Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of a handful of players whose contracts are up for renewal at the end of next season. The Englishman hasn’t had a great season for the Gunners but recent performances in losing causes have shown that he is always willing to give it his all.

The 23-year-old has started just 12 Premier League games all season and has a couple of goals and four assists to his name, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for him. Oxlade-Chamberlain does need to play more football and a number of clubs are after his signature.

The Daily Star reports that the former Southampton man is a favourite to join Liverpool in the summer. They have put the Englishman as 5/1 to join the Merseyside club while West Ham are just behind Jurgen Klopp’s side as 6/1.

There are a number of other Premier League sides also being linked with a move for the Ox with Everton and Southampton both 10/1 while Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Manchester United are 12/1.

A few other clubs that aren’t in the Premier League have also made it to the list such as Newcastle United, Roma and Atletico Madrid, who are all 25/1 to sign the Ox.

However, according to reports from Manchester Evening News, United are poised to make a bid for Chamberlain along with his team-mate Mesut Ozil as Jose Mourinho looks to take advantage of the crisis situation at the Emirates.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Linked to Liverpool

Liverpool though could do with a player that has grown in his midfielder’s role this season. Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t played out wide throughout the season but has actually done pretty well in the centre of midfield.

Jurgen Klopp has been scouting players that can provide energy to his side and fit into the Gegenpressing that he employs at the club easily. Oxlade-Chamberlain fits all the requirements to play at Liverpool and if he is given a greater number of games, he should get better and grow as a player.

The only downside could be the fact that Arsenal and Arsene Wenger might not want to let go of their star to Liverpool, after the shenanigans between the sides regarding the Luis Suarez transfer and Alexis Sanchez’s snub to the Reds.

The Reds will make a number of changes in the summer and with Klopp looking to make a mark next season too, the Ox rampaging in a Liverpool jersey might be the perfect scenario for both the player and the club.
