Klopp Confident Of Sealing £20m Signing In The Summer Claims Expert Close To The Liverpool Manager

Jurgen Klopp has always been a manager who has focused on developing young players into great stars than signing marquee names into his squad. Sticking with this philosophy, it appears that Liverpool have made German youngster Julian Brandt as one of the top transfer targets for the summer. Liverpool are reportedly ready to pay around £20 million for the player. The 20-year-old is one of the highly rated youngsters in German football besides Schalke’s Max Meyer.

Even though Bayern Munich remain as the front-runners for his signature should he become available, Liverpool manager Klopp is reportedly intent on making good use of his contacts in German football. Over the years, Klopp has transformed the fortunes of several players in unimaginable ways. Robert Lewandowski was an unknown quantity when he joined Borussia Dortmund, but he is now regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. There have been similar stories with the regards to the likes of Mario Gotze and Marco Reus.

Now, it seems that Brandt has emerged as the key transfer target for the Liverpool manager, according to Lee Price. The latter is an expert in German football, and has also worked with Klopp in order to write several books about the manager. His close relationship with Klopp appears to have given some insights into the potential transfer targets for Liverpool in the coming summer.

After a relatively quiet January, Liverpool are excited to be in the market for several new players. Defenders and forwards are expected to be the priority. The club would be keen on bringing several new players into the fold, after having faltered in their title challenge this season.

Brandt is an attacking talent who has already shown that he is capable of playing with the best in the business. He has already featured for the German national team on five occasions. Getting into the German national team happens to be one of the toughest prospects due to the intense competition for places. Since making his debut in May 2016, he has featured in five games and he is yet to score.

A 3-3 draw with Wolfsburg during the weekend saw Bayer Leverkusen drop out of the top 10 and are unlikely to finish in the European qualification spots. This could serve as an option for Liverpool to make a concrete offer in the summer.
