Jurgen Klopp has a lot of work ahead of him in the summer as he rebuilds the Liverpool squad. The Reds might be in the running for a Champions League place come the end of the season and that should allow them to get a few transfers in.
The problem most of the times has been a lack of spending but the Liverpool Echo claims that the German manager would be given a kitty of nearly £200 million to bring quality players to the Merseyside club.
That certainly will be music to Liverpool fans and there could be a number of players leaving the side as well. Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva and Alberto Moreno are more or less sure of not playing for the Reds next season while there are question marks about the goalkeepers and also Lazar Markovic, who is on loan at Hull City.
Daniel Sturridge is another big player who could be sold from the side and these departures would add to the transfer kitty for the summer.
Liverpool need not only quality but quantity as well since they would require cover for the likes of Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
The Reds have struggled in games where one or more of the above mentioned players have been injured or missing. The defence also needs reinforcements with transfers required for the centre-back and left-back positions.
A summer of rebuilding
The summer will be about rebuilding once again as Klopp looks to build on a decent season, especially after the incredible start they had to the campaign. Should they have the right additions for the side, the Reds would be contenders not only for the Premier League title but also European glory as well.
Liverpool have faced disappointment in the chase for Mahmoud Dahoud recently and should they be able to pay more to clubs, the Merseysiders should be able to bring in the players they want next season.
