The PFA Player of the Year nominees were announced earlier and it included some star names from the league from all the top clubs, except one team – Liverpool.
Stars from Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and even Everton were nominated but somehow, none of the Liverpool players seem to have made the grade to reach the list of nominees.
Alexis Sanchez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante were the players who were included in the shortlist.
While there is no undeserving player in the list, as every one of them have performed magically over the course of the season, it can be considered unjust that Sadio Mane has missed out on this. The Senegal star has been brilliant for Liverpool this season and has scored 13 goals and provided 8 assists. He is the club’s top scorer this season.
However, he has not been nominated for the PFA Player of the award and whether or not if the decision was right is a different question altogether. The Liverpool fans, rightly so, expressed their disappointment on Twitter.
Alexis Sanchez in the PFA awards list ahead of Sadio Mane this year? Hmmmm…
