Liverpool seems to be in the lead when it comes to getting one of their targets for the summer window. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is just one of a few players from Arsenal who would have less than a year remaining at the end of this season and is expected to leave the club in the summer.

A number of reports for the past one week have claimed that Liverpool will sign the Englishman in the summer and with the potential he has and still being only 23-years of age, there are many who expect him to be a great signing for the Reds. However, a tweet by Graeme Kelly on Saturday evening has gone viral and the Reds’ fans believe that they are close to landing the Arsenal man.

Although the deal is far from complete and we cannot take the above tweet as a reliable source, there won’t be smoke without a fire and the rumours about Chamberlain have been every growing this season.

The Englishman had joined the Gunners from Southampton in 2011 but he hasn’t become a regular for the side. This season, however, has been a different story as the Ox has been one of the more consistent players.

Even in a recent game, where the Gunners lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace, it was Oxlade-Chamberlain that looked half decent after he was brought on to replace a poor Theo Walcott.

Arsene Wenger also wants the Englishman to extend his contract at the Emirates but it now looks likely the 23-year-old would be moving away from the London club.

There are a few that are sceptical about the signing and don’t want Liverpool to spend the reported £35 million for the former Southampton man.

We share the best updates from Twitter regarding the move to Liverpool and how some of the fans reacted.
