‘The talks we’ve had are very positive’ – Klopp Sounds Confident About Summer Plans For Liverpool And The Club’s Future

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be planning for a major summer overhaul at the club, with some big names set to arrive at Anfield. Klopp revealed in a presser that Liverpool are in talks with some players but he says that it is not necessary for all the negotiations to be successful.

The Reds have struggled in a number of areas this season, notably in the defensive areas, where they have shipped in the highest number of goals in comparison to the other 5 teams in the top-6 of the table. It is usually a strong defence that wins titles and surely, Liverpool don’t have it right now.

It is essential that they strengthen their defence in the summer and go one step further. The goalkeepers too, have not been convincing but Klopp recently admitted that he isn’t looking to sign Joe Hart now, or in the future. So it would be safe to rule this one out. Mignolet and Karius are safe as of now.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said,

“I think that Liverpool at this moment is a really interesting project for players. It’s a fantastic club, it’s a good situation where we really can see the progress of the team. The talks we’ve had so far are very positive. That doesn’t mean it will all work out, but they are really positive, and they all see the progress. That’s good.”

“We cannot say 100 per cent that we will play Champions League football next year. I’m not sure, but I would say together with Tottenham, the average age of the team is such that there’s still a lot to come. We feel in a good way, and if a player wants to be part of this way, then it’s easier to make this decision this year than last year.”

The Liverpool boss’ suggestion about Champions League makes sense but certainly, the Reds would be aiming to give it their all to participate in the Europe’s elite competition.

The Reds have been linked with a host of big names including James Rodriguez, Alexander Lacazette, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mario Gotze, and Marco Asensio. Even if Liverpool manage to sign one or two of the above-mentioned stars, they would surely become genuine title contenders and they can go a long way in Champions League as well.

Despite all these star attackers being linked with the club, a top class defender looks like an essential purchase for Klopp this summer and he will be aware of it.

Nevertheless, it looks like it is going to be an exciting summer at Anfield.
