Lucas Leiva of Liverpool

Lucas Leiva has been one of the few players that has stuck at Liverpool for a decade. The Brazilian was signed by Rafa Benitez from Gremio and has played under Roy Hodgson, Brendan Rodgers, Kenny Dalglish and now Jurgen Klopp.

It has been claimed that the Brazilian is all but sure to leave the club in the summer as he wants to play more first team football, something that is not a guarantee under Klopp. This season too, Lucas did play a number of games but most of them were in the centre-back spot.

Now the former Gremio man shared an emotional message as the players and staff celebrated the Brazilian’s time at the club.

“For sure, I will always be here to help, like I’ve been before – and I’m sure this group has all the tools (like our gaffer says) for success,” Lucas said to the crowd.

The Brazilian also stated that the club and players will do better next season and that does seem to be a sure shot claim that he would be leaving the club in the summer.

Lucas has been linked with clubs such as Inter Milan and Galatasaray. It might be tough for him to remain in England and he could decide to move back to Brazil as a number of clubs are interested.

For now, Lucas seems to be enjoying his final days at the club and there was a special carnival atmosphere to the celebrations.

All his Liverpool teammates were also there with Steven Gerrard as well and Roberto Firmino shared this update from the festivities.

Hopefully, Lucas can get the team into the Champions League and similar celebrations can take place once again.
