Crystal Palace seem to have confirmed their Premier League status for another season thanks to a wonderful turnaround under Sam Allardyce. One player who has been a star for the team is their loan signing Mamadou Sakho and Palace’s chairman Steve Parish wants to sign the Frenchman on a permanent deal.
The problem would be with the valuation of Sakho as even though the former PSG defender didn’t play first team football in the first half of the season, the Reds want £30 million fee for the 27-year-old.
Speaking to BT Sport, (h/t Squawka.com) Parish was asked if he would like to keep the former PSG defender at Selhurst Park next season and he has confirmed that Palace would love to have Sakho;
“I think that’s a tougher one. We’d love to. He was down there (for Palace’s loss to Burnley) and he didn’t have to be, and he’s been a massive, massive part of getting us to this stage.
“He’s a leader. He’s a fantastic character and a good player. We would love to try and make that deal happen. But it takes two sides to make a deal and everybody’s got to be reasonable.
“If we can do something sensible then we’ll be happy to do it.”
Sakho has seen the side win five of their seven matches and has also helped them with four clean sheets as well. The defender did pick up an injury recently and will be out for the rest of the season.

The former PSG man also seems to have burnt any remaining bridges at Anfield after his celebrations with Christian Benteke when Palace beat Liverpool recently and it only seems to be a matter of which club he will move to in the summer that has to be answered.
Sakho has been linked with a move back to France with a number of clubs wanting to sign him up but Palace did pay £32 million for Benteke in the summer and could be doing something similar in the coming transfer window for Sakho as well.
