Liverpool Turn Their Attention Towards Belgium To Solve Striker Woes

Liverpool’s summer plans will include a lot of transfers, especially for their forward line seeing that Daniel Sturridge can’t stay fit for more than a month. The latest report coming from Belgium says that the Merseyside club wants to sign Lukasz Teodorczyk from Anderlecht.

Belgian Publication RTBF claims that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing the 25-year-old Polish striker to Anfield and will go all out to sign him up from the Belgian club.

Teodorczyk does have a decent record this season by scoring 20 goals in the league campaign and his performances have helped Anderlecht lead the other teams with a two-point lead.

The Polish striker leads the charts for the league and has contributed to 29% of the team’s goals this season. Teodorczyk only joined Anderlecht on loan from Dynamo Kiev ahead of the season but the club made the deal permanent after paying €4.5 million for the 25-year-old.

The report also claims that the Belgian club will be looking to sell the player for more than thrice the amount they initially paid, which isn’t a huge deal when considering the filthy amounts paid out by even the smaller clubs for their targets.

While Teodorczyk plays as a forward for the Belgian side, his name is a new one to be linked with the Reds. The striker isn’t a youth player either, which would make more sense if he was on the radar of Liverpool, but seems to be a random rumour doing the rounds.

The Reds know they have a lot of options for the forward line, even if Sturridge is sold. Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino can do a job but the German manager would be looking for an upgrade on his current forwards next season.

Liverpool might be playing in the Champions League next season and with some form of European participation guaranteed for the Reds, Klopp will have to get more players in, to deal with the extra number of games.
