Liverpool To Give Green Signal For This Transfer To Be Completed But Lay Down One Important Condition

Liverpool have reportedly laid down their conditions to let promising central midfielder Allan Rodrigues De Souza be on loan with German club Hertha Berlin for next season as well. The Reds signed the young Brazilian in the summer of 2015 from Internacional and immediately sent him out on loan to Finnish club Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho, where he scored on his debut. However, in January 2016, he was loaned out to Sint-Truiden for the remainder of the season.

Allan has constantly been on loan away from Liverpool because of his failure to obtain a work permit to play in England. Since he is not a full Brazilian international yet, he is not eligible for a work permit. He has represented Brazil at the U-20 stage but is yet to play for the senior team.

After he returned from his loan spell at Sint-Truiden, he was again sent out on loan, but this time to the German league, where he joined Hertha Berlin. Liverpool tried to get a work permit for him in the summer of 2016 but couldn’t do so and hence he was shipped out again.

The 20-year old joined the German club on a season-long loan deal and that expires soon. Hence it looks like the German club have asked Liverpool if they can hold on to the player for another season as well, to which the Reds had seemingly responded by putting forth their conditions to let the player remain in Germany.

It is important for any young player who goes out on loan, to play regularly. If they don’t do so, the whole point of the loan deal gets killed, as the sole purpose of a temporary deal is offering a win-win to all the 3 parties involved. So it is not surprising to learn that Liverpool have demanded that the young Brazilian talent gets enough game time if he remains with Hertha Berlin for the 2017/18 season as well.

It has been reported by ESPN that the midfielder is unlikely to qualify for a work permit due to his lack of action. They have also claimed that Liverpool are open to another 12-month deal with Hertha, as long as they reach the Europa League.

Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz told Kicker (h/t ESPN),

“We’ve lodged our wish to loan Allan for another year with Liverpool. Principally, the English are up for it, but they would like us to be a guaranteed starter in the group stages of Europa League.”

Hertha, who are keen on bringing Allan back nest season, have one game left against Bayer Leverkusen and a win would secure their place in the Europa League group stages.
