This is the ‘Nth’ time we are coming across this news. It is obvious that we need reinforcements at the back and this seems to be the feeder for a lot of news outlets as they continue to take advantage of our weakness to create news week in week out.

Liverpool are reportedly the favourites to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Fulham’s young sensation Ryan Sessegnon. If the bookies, Betvictor (h/t Liverpool Echo) are to be believed, the Reds are going to do a lot of business. Jurgen Klopp’s men are high up in the likely destinations of many players although often the odds are nothing short of ridiculous.

More than one Bookmakers think that the three most likely new arrivals at Anfield are Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryan Sessegnon. Van Dijk would cost a lot of money without a doubt but the Reds are the 5/4 favourites to sign the £50m-rated Dutchman with Chelsea being the next favourites at 2/1.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is considered even more likely to make his way to Anfield. Chamberlain won the FA Cup on Saturday as Arsenal beat Chelsea in an intense final. His odds are at 4/5 to join us with Betvictor (h/t Liverpool Echo) claiming the same.

Fulham’s teenage prodigy Ryan Sessegnon is Liverpool’s number one target to strengthen the left full-back position and are a short price at 3/1 to leave his club when the season starts. However, that still puts the Reds behind the current favourites for the youngster’s signature, 6/4 favourites Spurs.

Ryan Sessegnon is a Liverpool target

Liverpool have also been named as favourites for a lot of other players but logically they don’t make sense whatsoever. It has become quite normal these days to link various players with moves to top clubs, especially if they end up having even a decent season, never mind a good one.

So it is better we don’t really believe the odds slashed by betting companies and rather trust only those few trustworthy sources that offer some authentic news.

Who do you think Liverpool will sign this summer?
