Liverpool Keen To Sign This 18-year Old English Starlet – Is He Worth The Fuss?

Liverpool are set to raid Hull City for one of their defenders in the summer. While Andrew Robertson might be the left-back Liverpool fans have been hearing about in recent weeks, Football Whispers claims that Josh Tymon is the player we are interested in signing.

The 17-year-old Englishman might have been relegated with the Tigers but he is another player that seems to have piqued the interest of the Reds.

The report claims that Ryan Sessegnon was the primary target for the left-back spot but with that deal facing many issues, Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention to the youngster from Hull.

Tymon also is one of the lowest paid Premier League at just £160 a week and has a deal till 2018. He might not be the player that makes the starting XI straight away but he can provide great cover for the first-team left-back we do sign.

The youngster did make 12 appearances for Hull last season and even started four matches. One of them was the win over Manchester United in the EFL Cup.

We don’t really have a lot of players who can take up the left-back slot and with Alberto Moreno certain to leave, bringing in reinforcements is a necessity.

The 17-year-old would cost around £5 million according to the report, which would make him a cheaper alternative to the rather expensive Sessegnon.

Tymon does fit the bill for a player that Klopp can mould and work upon next season and even for the future but he is not the player that should be seen as part of the starting XI.

We need to spend big money to bring in a quality left-back as we cannot have another season of James Milner filling in that position. Moving for Tymon and spending less does make more sense than risking it with Sessegnon, but we need an experienced signing who can be the mainstay at the club. Also, we wouldn’t want another situation like Dele Alli and miss out on a player with a lot of potential.

It is a long summer ahead of us, and we will have to wait and see how this unfolds.
