Deal Close – Liverpool Could Finally Sign £35m Attacker To End Transfer Speculations

Alright! This one has been going on for a while now. The media are capable of taking the life out of football fans and especially Liverpool fans’. Time and again, we have been linked with a lot of players and with some obvious weaknesses in our squad, the media have been clever enough to link us with certain players playing in those positions.

While most of the transfer rumours remain as rumours, only few of them turn out to be true. It was true that we were in pursuit of Virgil van Dijk as the club officially

made a statement on the issue surrounding the same.

We have also been linked heavily with Mohamed Salah and that is turning out to be the next transfer saga of this window. The Telegraph earlier reported that we were confident of signing Salah, for who Roma were holding out a £35m price card.

Liverpool earlier bid £28m and it was rejected by Roma. So the negotiations seem to be going on for a while now. However, the latest news is that an agreement between the two clubs is close and that the deal could be completed soon.

According to Italian source Corriere dello Sport, an agreement is closer than ever to being finalised and that it will be announced after the international friendlies. Egypt played Tunisia on Sunday night and the former Chelsea star has returned to the Italian capital where it is said Salah and his agent have spoken with Roma to confirm his wish to leave (Yallakora)

The report claims that Roma are bound by FIFA Financial Fair-Play regulations and that the sale of Salah would ensure they comply with the restrictions imposed on them, which is partly why they’re willing to compromise with the Reds over the fee. It looks like they’ll have to balance the books by the end of this month.

Salah scored 19 and assisted 15 goals in all competitions last season. He missed just three games due to an ankle injury and has successfully managed to put his Chelsea nightmare behind and move on.

Signing the Egyptian would be a brilliant move by us and there’s no doubt about his quality. Let’s see how far this news turns out to be true.
