Thomas Lemar Monaco

Liverpool are in the race to sign Monaco’s rising star Thomas Lemar according to the French TV show, Telefoot. The 21-year-old can play in a range of positions but he is best used when played out wide.

The Frenchman certainly was on fire last season for the French champions as he chipped in with nine goals and 10 assists in just 34 Ligue 1 games.

The report also claims that Italian champions Juventus are interested in the winger and so are our Premier League rivals Tottenham.

The speedy winger is just one of a few players that have been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 side and it seemed that Tottenham were leading the race according to Telefoot.

However, a deal has not been concluded with the winger and this is where we can come in and close a deal for one of the brightest players in French football.

Lemar is also extremely versatile and can also play as a wing-back on either flanks, something that should interest Jurgen Klopp as he looks to add some fresh blood and quality to our side.

A quality player but his signing is unlikely

We have been negotiating in the transfer market but haven’t signed anyone except Dominic Solanke.

Mohamed Salah is one player we have been linked with the most in the past couple of weeks and we should conclude a deal for the 24-year-old Roma winger soon.

We still need more quality in our attack and Lemar certainly would add that a lot more to the side.

What is surprising is that we have been linked with almost every Monaco player that is rumoured to leave the side. From Kylian Mbappe to Lemar, but nothing concrete has come out from the player or agents or the media, except for these rumours.

It would be extremely surprising if Lemar does make the move and join us next season. We have been linked with other players who star in the same positions and the 21-year-old wouldn’t be willing to move and then sit on the bench.

Lemar is quality, there is no doubt about that but it is highly unlikely he will be playing in the Red of Liverpool next season.
