Germany made it to the finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, after they thrashed Mexico 4-1 in the semi-finals on Thursday.
One of our players, Emre Can, is a part of the German team playing in Russia, but did not feature from the kick-off against the Mexicans. He did make an appearance from the bench and the second half and made an important contribution, setting up Amin Younes for the fourth and final goal of the game in the injury time.
But there were questions raised in the minds of the fans as to why the midfielder did not start the game in the first place. There have been a few suggestions that Can is carrying a minor injury, which might have prevented Germany head coach Joachim Low from picking him from the start.
There were reports earlier this week, that the 23-year old had picked up a minor niggle during training, ahead of Die Mannschaft’s group encounter against Cameroon.
The reason for his absence remains unknown, but Can’s performance drew mixed response from the Liverpool fans. And here we bring you some of the best reactions to the midfielder’s displays from Twitter. Read on!
