Liverpool have been boosted in the pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Naby Keita after the midfielder was left out of the promotional video that unveiled the team’s new kit for the 2017-18 season.
Keita has emerged as one of the top transfer targets for Liverpool. Manager Jurgen Klopp is so keen on signing the Guinea international that he is even prepared to pay £70million and break the club’s transfer record by a significant margin. Keita came to RB Leipzig only last summer from Red Bull Salzburg but he has been a key player for the club in the stunning campaign that ended in a second-place finish in the Bundesliga.
As a result, RB Leipzig will be playing in the Champions League the upcoming season and the club will have the opportunity to sign more top players. Yet, it has not prevented transfer rumours from linking majority of their top players with a move to established clubs like Liverpool, and Keita is one among them.

In the latest promotional video unveiled by the club, six players feature in promoting the new kit. Yet, the absence of Keita in the video is seen as a major hint that RB Leipzig do not expect to see the player at the club next season. The player is expected to hold talks with the club’s board soon over clarification about his future. Even though RB Leipzig have stated publicly that they do not want to sell their best players, it will be extremely difficult for the German outfit to keep him in the next summer.
The 22-year-old managed to come up with returns of 8 goals and 8 assists in the 32 appearances last season. He has a contract with the club until 2020.
