The slowdown of transfers coming into Liverpool has not affected Jurgen Klopp’s mood ahead of the new season. The manager recently stated that we would have to be patient when it comes to signings and that things are taking place behind the scenes.

The manager also spoke about how difficult it is to bring players over to England and did ask for some patience from the fans.

The German was speaking to the Liverpool website, and the Metro shared some of the quotes from the former Borussia Dortmund manager.

“Yes, it will be a difficult one, maybe it’s getting more and more difficult, especially in England”

“But we have made a lot of good things so far. If you cannot see it so far, you can imagine we have done a lot of things behind the scenes.

“Sometimes you need to be patient and that’s what we are in at the moment – to wait for the right moment and then we will see what happens.”

It isn’t like we have not brought in new players in the summer, as Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke have bolstered our attacking options ahead of the new season.

Major Deals Stuck In A Rut

The problematic deals have been the ones regarding Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk. Keita’s club, RB Leipzig, are a tough nut to crack and don’t seem willing to sell their player unless we pay close to £70million – a fee that we don’t want to pay for one of the Bundesliga’s brightest players.

The Van Dijk saga was a completely different issue and our interest in him seems to have cooled down after our public apology to Southampton.

However, many believe that deals for the duo would be completed before the end of the window and that the two players are interested in joining us as we look to embark on a Champions League journey.

The one massive positive of getting the transfers done early in the window is the time given for the players to acclimatise, not only to the club but also to the other players. Pre-season is the perfect time for the players to join a team as they can learn more about one another, instead of joining after a couple of games having taken place in the Premier League.

Klopp will be expecting the club to bring in all the talent he wants fairly quickly and the sooner we bring in more quality players, the better our chances will be of building on last season and finishing even higher.
