Liverpool have moved one step closer to signing Virgil van Dijk as the Dutch defender has stated that he does not want to play for the Saints and wants a move away from the club.
The Liverpool Echo carries quotes from Mauricio Pellegrino, and the new Saints coach has told his star defender to train all alone for the moment. There is only one winner from all this and that should be us, as we look set to sign the 26-year-old.
Unless Southampton decide to keep hold of Van Dijk and teach him a lesson next season, the 26-year-old should be a Red soon and as you would expect, a number of fans turned up on Twitter to share their views on the latest twist in the tale of Van Dijk and Liverpool.

It’s gone from Keita being quite likely and Van Dijk being unlikely to Van Dijk being likely and Keita practically over in 2 days.

Surely Southampton have no option but to sell Van Dijk now!!

Van Dijk basically on strike wonder how we’d feel if Coutinho did that to force a move to Barcsaying that all I give a shite about is LFC

If we able to sign Keita and van dijk and keep Coutinho with us in this summer, there will be best season waiting for us. #LFC #YNWA

Liverpool target Virgil van Dijk has won more aerial duels and tackles combined than any other Premier League centre-back since 2015/16. pic.twitter.com/AxiMK9UMuL

Signing Van Dijk is a lot more important to us than Keita. Imo.
