Liverpool have completed the signing of left-back Andrew Robertson from Hull City, the club has confirmed on Friday.
The Mirror reported on Thursday evening that the 23-year-old was all smiles and was spotted near the Spire Hospital in Liverpool after reportedly completing a medical. And now the club has issued the official confirmation that Scottish international is one of ours now.
As we all know, the deal for the Scottish left-back is worth £8million and could rise to £10million with add-ons (BBC Sport).
Robertson is our third signing of the summer and should solve our major left-back problems ahead of a big season for Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the team.
The 23-year-old played in 39 games for the Tigers last season but had to deal with relegation. Robertson is one of a handful of players who have left Hull since their drop to the Championship. However, he certainly was one of their better players and it was only a matter of time before he made a move to a Premier League side.

The Scot can also play in midfield but is expected to not only provide cover for James Milner but also give him some competition for that position. The move will also open the door for Alberto Moreno to leave us, as the Spaniard barely played last season and was also a subject of a transfer bid from Napoli recently which was rejected by the Reds.
That probably took place as we were looking to wrap up the deal for Robertson and with the Scot coming in, some fans will be relieved that we have finally signed someone who can play in that position.
“It feels a wee bit surreal just now. Obviously I’m delighted,” he told Liverpool’s official website upon his signing. “There’s been a lot of speculation over the last couple of weeks but I’m glad that the deal’s finally been done and I’m a Liverpool player.
“My family are proud of what I’ve achieved so far and they’re all over the moon with the move, as well as me of course. We’re all just looking forward to being part of the Liverpool family now.
“I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and go on to do good things for this club.”

A Rare Smart Signing In A World Of Crazy Transfers
Robertson seems like a smart signing made by Klopp. The 23-year-old didn’t make any errors last season despite playing for one of the weakest sides last season.
The price point being paid for the defender is great too and if he can put in decent performances for us next season, it would be considered a success by the scouting network. Robertson also has time on his hand and could turn out to be a great singing for the future too, since he is only 23.
Most of Klopp’s signings have worked for us and it does seem likely that Robertson will fall into this category too.
