Liverpool Return To Sign Brazilian After Previously Agreeing To A £26m Deal – Fenerbahce In The Mix As well

Brazilian sensation Luan was tipped as a potential summer target for Liverpool, and with Naby Keita’s transfer speculation hitting a stumbling block, it is expected that Klopp might yet again outline the Brazilian as his target. This time around, however, the Reds aren’t alone in this chase as Foot Mercato (h/t Daily Mirror

) has claimed that Turkish side Fenerbahce have entered the foray as well.

This isn’t the first time the 24-year-old has been linked with Liverpool, as even last summer, he was touted as the potential replacement for Christian Benteke. Furthermore, it had also been reported that Liverpool’s £26million offer got accepted back in May after the Reds ‘met with the player’s representatives’, but somehow they failed to reach the conclusion.

Luan’s exit from Gremio is imminent as reports are claiming (Daily Mirror) that the Brazilian outfit are ready to listen to offers for the attacker. Hence, if Liverpool indeed want to land the Brazilian sensation, they will have to enter the bidding war against the Turkish giants. Gremio manager and Brazilian legend Renato Gaucho, last month, conceded that the club might struggle in keeping hold of the player once the transfer window opens.

“In my opinion, Luan is the best player in Brazilian football,” he told SporTV (as quoted by Turkish Football). “He has been playing great football, helping the team.

“We all know that Gremio will struggle to keep him because the proposals will appear. We hope he does not go, but it gets difficult with the [transfer] window and with him playing as he has been playing.

“It’s going to be a real shame. The group are strong, but of course, we will feel it if this happens. For my part, the club would never interfere in a way that holds back the player. Unfortunately, nowadays the Brazilian clubs cannot compete with [those in] Europe.”

Liverpool’s attack is clearly very well stocked, more so after the summer arrivals of Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah. However, the recent transfer speculations surrounding Barcelona’s interest

in Philippe Coutinho as a replacement for the departed Neymar may force them to look at Luan once again.
