Talented Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo has joined championship side Fulham on a season-long loan (BBC). He can play in any position across the front-line and brings life to the game with his pace and skill – a case in point being his performance in England’s 3-1 win over Italy in the U-20 world cup semi-finals. His two assists were of the highest quality and bore a mark of maturity beyond his age.

That explains why interest from Fulham, Middlesbrough, Derby County and Aston Villa surfaced this summer. According to the BBC, it looks like the youngster has chosen to join the Cottagers ahead of the new season.

Fulham are currently 15th in the Championship table and are unbeaten after three rounds of action. However, all three were draws, which mean the Cottagers need to pick up their performances soon. They were looking to add depth to their squad and the Liverpool youngster was the first name on their list.

Ojo traveled to London last week and held talks with their coach Slavisa Jokanovic. The Fulham manager seems ready to provide him some regular action, which seems to have appealed to the youngster, more than anything else. The England youth star made just two appearances for the Reds last season although it was largely due to the stress fracture in his back. He has previously been on loan with Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ojo joined Liverpool from MK Dons six years ago and is rated very highly at Anfield. The youngster became the club’s youngest ever FA Cup goal scorer in the 3-0 win over Exeter City last January. Klopp sees this loan spell to Fulham as very vital to his development. Probably by this time next season, we will have another super winger in our ranks!
