There is more drama on the way regarding the future of Julian Draxler. The German had only joined Paris Saint-Germain from Wolfsburg in the January window for £35.5 million but according to reports coming from France (via Express), Draxler is surplus to requirements at the Parc Des Princes and could be looking for greener pastures.

PSG have been in the news themselves as they brought in Neymar for a world record transfer and that translates into less minutes for Draxler. The 23-year-old was one of the most highly-rated Bundesliga players when he left Wolfsburg and it was a bit of a surprise seeing him move to France and not to England.

Liverpool have been one of the clubs tracking the German for a few years but no deal was completed for him in January. With the news of him not needed at the Ligue 1 giants, we should make a move for the talented attacker.

Draxler would be perfect not only for our playing style but his ability to play across the line or a little deeper behind the main striker would also provide us with a lot of options.

There still is a lot of talk about Philippe Coutinho leaving and should that nightmare actually come true, Draxler would be a great replacement for the Brazilian.

Not only would he be guaranteed a starting role in the side, he could become the fulcrum of the attack and lead us to glory. Plus, being only 23 at the moment provides us with a player who is young, hungry and ready to prove himself in one of the best leagues in the world.

Draxler wants to move somewhere else

There still is a major problem though as talkSPORT carries a report from El Mundo Deportivo claiming that the German actually wants a move to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants have been running from pillar to post to find a replacement for Neymar and Draxler knows that the La Liga side want to bring in talent.

It is reported that the German has already sounded out his agents over a switch to the Camp Nou and only after that will he listen to offers from other clubs.

Rather than hoping to keep hold of Coutinho, we should go all out for the German as he would be a great player for us. In all probability, paying £35.5 million or more to cover his fee would be considered cheap in this window.
