Liverpool’s season is going from bad to worse and things don’t look any better after their 2-0 loss at the hands of Leicester City in the Carabao Cup. The Reds were looking to get their first after a winless run of three but were pegged back in the second-half, thanks to goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani.
Things actually started off well for us since we dominated the first-half. With Philippe Coutinho getting a start, the Brazilian looked good to get on the scoresheet. Jurgen Klopp took the Brazilian off before the start of the second half and then the capitulation started, thanks to poor defending again from a corner that led to Okazaki’s opener.
We switched off for another second from a throw-in and Slimani made no mistake against Danny Ward, who was also getting his first start of the season. This was not a first-team Liverpool side but we still gave Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a start too, with hopes that the former Arsenal man would give us a much-needed victory.
The Englishman was one of the worst players on the night and should shoulder a part of the blame as we were knocked out without a whimper. There are many that are now questioning Klopp for signing the attacker when we didn’t need one.
Twitter too was filled with angry reactions not only about the Ox’s performance but also about how he is a curse to Liverpool.
Here are some of the reactions from the social media:
Oxlade For Liverpool :
Man City 5-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 2-2 Sevilla
Liverpool 1-1 Burnley
Leicester 2-0 Liverpool
The Ox Effect.

If Wenger is guilty of anything with Oxlade-Chamberlain it was keeping him around too long when it was clear he wasn’t improving at all

How has Oxlade-Chamberlain managed to keep his inability to play football such a secret for so long? He’s fucking terrible!

If you’re feeling bad just remember that no matter what you’re going through you’re probably still a better baller than Oxlade Chamberlain

We spent all summer trying to sell Lazar Markovic just to sign the pumped up version of him in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I’m ashamed of myself for wanting Oxlade Chamberlain. I never even rated him but convinced myself he was a baller who fell victim to Wenger
