Saturday night’s action saw Liverpool move up to 5th in the English Premier League with a 3-2 win over Leicester City. There was a bit of everything from the Reds as Jurgen Klopp’s men claimed their first win since August.
There was magic from their forward line as Mohamed Salah scored the opener and Philippe Coutinho scored a stunner. There was sloppy defending on show as Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy scored cheap goals.
Simon Mignolet displayed both sides of his extravagant football – first, to give away a penalty after a silly foul and then make amends by saving Vardy’s spot-kick.
Whatever it was, Liverpool dished out their usual brilliance with a generous sprinkling of defensive lapses to grab a vital win. That, it was achieved, without the presence of their star Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, made it all the more impressive.
Mane is serving a three-match ban for his red card that he picked up against Manchester City but was spotted shopping in an Asda on the matchday.
The Reds star was pictured holding a baby in the grocery store and it went viral on social media, with the fans joking about the entire scenario.
