Liverpool’s season just does not seem to start and once again, the side were held to a 1-1 draw, this time by Newcastle United. The Reds actually took the lead against Rafa Benitez’s side thanks to a wonder goal from Philippe Coutinho, who smashed the ball home from outside the box.
For those thinking that we would be able to keep hold of the lead were mistaken as we gave away the lead after just 7 minutes, thanks to our defenders falling asleep and Joselu getting the final touch as Joel Matip tried to make a last-minute tackle.
We didn’t really do much in the second half but Daniel Sturridge had a glorious chance to give us the lead while Mohamed Salah shot over the bar from the saved shot. Even bringing on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino and Dominic Solanke couldn’t get us three points and this was another frustrating display from the team. Jurgen Klopp was going ballistic in the technical area.
The match ended 1-1 and this was another two points dropped, as we head to the international break. There was a lot of disappointment for the Liverpool fans and here is how they reacted on Twitter.

Klopp needs to take responsibility. Didn’t buy a CB despite shite defence, flawed system and takes ages to make a substitution when needed.

We didn’t buy a 20+ striker ❌
We didn’t buy any defenders ❌
We didn’t buy a DM/CM ❌No surprise we are 7th & haven’t won a CL game #LFC

Counting down the days until Lallana’s return. We need his energy. His pressing. Why do LFC not press anymore?!

Getting more and more frustrated seeing us perform like this. 1 win in the last 7. It’s all the same, every game.

#LFC 7th in the league. Won’t make top 5 this season. Not overreacting. Others are far far better than us. Fact.

FT: Newcastle 1 #LFC 1: Really poor second-half display from the Reds. Go into the international break on a low. Just 1 win from last 7.
