“I wish he was a Red!” – Liverpool Legend Wants This Tottenham Superstar At Anfield

Harry Kane of Tottenham

The accolades keep coming for Harry Kane, who was on fire against Huddersfield on Saturday. The English striker scored a brace for Tottenham and that took his tally for the month of September to 13, after failing to find the back of the net in August.

The 24-year-old has been the highest scorer in the Premier League for the past 2 campaigns and looks set to smash the records once again. A number of Europe’s top clubs are keeping an eye on the talented striker and with England facing Slovenia during the international break, he should be banging in a few more goals.

Kane’s exploits have also caught the eye of our legendary former skipper Steven Gerrard and the current Liverpool U18 coach has had his say about the 24-year-old.

The Englishman was speaking to Sky Sports News and said,

“He is the in-form player in world football, in terms of goals scored and how he is playing. I love the player and I love the character. I watch his interviews a lot and I have also met him on a couple of occasions.”

Gerrard also added that Kane is the perfect player to look up to and is constantly working on his game. The legend also wanted Kane to play for us but that doesn’t seem like happening anytime soon.

“I think he is a perfect role model and an ambassador for the game. I love the way he goes about his work. I’ve also spoken to people who know him better than myself and I’ve heard he is obsessed and relentless on the training ground.

“I am sure he is getting the rewards now for all that hard work. I am glad he is English, I wish he was a Red! I am really happy for him with the form he is in and I am really enjoying watching him at the moment.”

Liverpool could certainly do with a Kane kind of player in the team as we have squandered a number of chances in our past three or four games.

With Daniel Sturridge failing to find the back of the net and Roberto Firmino already looking tired, our season has certainly come under extreme scrutiny and maybe this international break is the perfect time for Jurgen Klopp to look back at the team and make a few tweaks.

There is no doubt that when our attack clicks, it is one of the best in England. Hopefully, that will be the case when the players return for a huge clash against Manchester United at Anfield.
