Liverpool Superstar On PSG’s Radar As Club President Wants To Make ‘Express Signing’

Philippe Coutinho is a wanted man, once again, as reports from Spain claim that the Liverpool star is a target for Paris Saint-Germain in the January window. Liverpool dug deep to keep hold of the 25-year-old in the summer window as we rejected a number of bids from Barcelona and now will have to do something similar in the next window.

The report from Sport claims that the Ligue1 side’s sporting director, Maxwell, is interested in bringing Coutinho over to France and that he is an express signing that PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants.

Coutinho would prefer a move to Spain but that all depends on how much PSG will be willing to spend after we were adamant that the former Inter Milan man was not for sale.

It was a tough time for us during the summer window and surprisingly we kept hold of one of the best attacking midfielders we have had in recent years. The Brazilian didn’t take part in our initial games of the season due to a back injury but has been one saving grace for us in the last few matches.

Coutinho is the creative force of our team and him playing to the best of his abilities would ensure that we get the best out of our attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Another Crazy Rumour Linking Coutinho Away

For all we know, this could be another rumour planted by the Spanish sources to unsettle Coutinho. They did a pretty good job of it in the summer window as almost every outlet claimed the £150,000-a-week earner had signed for Barcelona and that we had agreed to sell him.

That was not the case as we kept our word of not selling him but it will be tough to keep him in our team at the end of next season, especially after the World Cup in Russia.

We sold Luis Suarez right after the World Cup to Barcelona nearly three years ago and a similar fate could await us unless we get our act together and play quality football.

Qualification for the Champions League and a trophy has to be the target for this season and anything less than that will force Coutinho to think about leaving us for greener pastures.
